According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2011, the number of deaths for California was 238,381. Los Angeles County had the highest number of deaths (58,180), followed by San Diego County (19,667), and Orange County (17,667). On the other hand, Alpine County had the lowest number of deaths (8), followed by Sierra County (35), and Mono County (38).
