According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2011, the number of deaths for North Carolina was 79,977. Mecklenburg County had the highest number of deaths (5,225), followed by Wake County (4,387), and Guilford County (3,862). On the other hand, Hyde County had the lowest number of deaths (52), followed by Tyrrell County (65), and Camden County (76).
