According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2011, the number of deaths for Vermont was 5,437. Chittenden had the highest number of deaths (968), followed by Rutland (669), and Windsor (583). On the other hand, Grand Isle had the lowest number of deaths (48), followed by Essex (54), and Lamoille (201).
