Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2016, there were 114,315 people that identified as Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone in North Carolina and they represented 1.13% of the total population of North Carolina in 2016. Robeson County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone population (52,437), followed by Cumberland County (4,686), and Hoke County (4,374). On the other hand, Tyrrell County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone (8), followed by Hyde County (21), and Washington County (27).
