Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2021, there were 466,881 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Arkansas and they represented 15.42% of the total population of Arkansas in 2021. Pulaski County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (151,793), followed by Jefferson County (37,455), and Crittenden County (26,044). On the other hand, Searcy County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (32), followed by Newton County (33), and Montgomery County (44).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Phillips County had the highest percentage (61.72%), followed by Jefferson County (57.05%), and Crittenden County (54.86%).
