Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2013, there were 699,534 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Missouri and they represented 11.58% of the total population of Missouri in 2013. St. Louis County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (236,762), followed by Jackson County (160,098), and St. Louis city (153,597). On the other hand, Scotland County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (3), followed by Mercer County (5), and Schuyler County (6).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, St. Louis city had the highest percentage (48.21%), followed by Pemiscot County (26.3%), and Mississippi County (24.46%).
