Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2022, there were 708,501 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Missouri and they represented 11.47% of the total population of Missouri in 2022. St. Louis County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (247,592), followed by Jackson County (161,322), and St. Louis city (123,529). On the other hand, Scotland County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (7), followed by Schuyler County (13), and Putnam County (13).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, St. Louis city had the highest percentage (43.16%), followed by Pemiscot County (25.95%), and St. Louis County (24.99%).
