Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2013, there were 702,096 people that identified as Non-Hispanic White alone in South Dakota and they represented 83.31% of the total population of South Dakota in 2013. Minnehaha County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic White alone population (151,050), followed by Pennington County (85,723), and Lincoln County (47,071). On the other hand, Buffalo County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic White alone (304), followed by Oglala Lakota County (510), and Ziebach County (668).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic White alone, Hanson County had the highest percentage (97.83%), followed by Faulk County (97.4%), and McPherson County (97.32%).
