Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2020, there were 723,119 people that identified as Non-Hispanic White alone in South Dakota and they represented 81.45% of the total population of South Dakota in 2020. Minnehaha County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic White alone population (159,189), followed by Pennington County (87,737), and Lincoln County (60,195). On the other hand, Buffalo County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic White alone (312), followed by Ziebach County (658), and Mellette County (726).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic White alone, Hand County had the highest percentage (96.08%), followed by Faulk County (95.92%), and Edmunds County (95.59%).
