United States Hispanic or Latino Population By State in 2021

Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2021, there were 62,999,422 hispanics or latinos (of all racial backgrounds) in the United States and they constituted 18.97% of the total US population in 2021.

California had the highest number of hispanics or latinos (15,615,656), followed by Texas (11,661,238), and Florida (5,819,461). On the other hand, Vermont had the lowest number of hispanics or latinos (16,214), followed by Maine (28,450), and North Dakota (34,561).

When it comes to the ratio of hispanics to non-hispanic population, New Mexico had the highest percentage of its population being hispanic (48.10%), followed by California (39.89%), and Texas (39.45%).
