According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2020, the net domestic migration for Alaska was -7,980. Matanuska-Susitna Borough had the highest net domestic migration (912) followed by Kenai Peninsula Borough (335), and Yakutat City and Borough (60). On the other hand, Anchorage Borough had the lowest net domestic migration (-3,994), followed by Fairbanks North Star Borough (-2,380), and Kodiak Island Borough (-379).

Net Domestic Migration for a given county refers to the the difference between number of people moving to the county from other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico).
