According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2014, the net domestic migration for North Dakota was 9,526. Williams County had the highest net domestic migration (2,089) followed by Cass County (1,816), and Stark County (1,637). On the other hand, Walsh County had the lowest net domestic migration (-164), followed by Traill County (-149), and Rolette County (-112).

Net Domestic Migration for a given county refers to the the difference between number of people moving to the county from other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico).
