According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2012, the net domestic migration for South Carolina was 23,940. Horry County had the highest net domestic migration (5,159) followed by Charleston County (4,864), and Greenville County (3,990). On the other hand, Williamsburg County had the lowest net domestic migration (-523), followed by Chesterfield County (-476), and Orangeburg County (-436).

Net Domestic Migration for a given county refers to the the difference between number of people moving to the county from other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and number of people moving out of the county to other parts of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico).
