According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2012, the net migration for Missouri was -4,613. Greene County had the highest net migration (2,092) followed by St. Charles County (1,607), and Boone County (1,398). On the other hand, St. Louis city had the lowest net migration (-1,847), followed by Jackson County (-1,597), and St. Louis County (-1,587).

Net migration for a county refers to the difference between the number of migrants, both domestic and international, moving to the county and those leaving the county. Or to put it simply, the net migration for a given county is the inbound migration minus the outbound migration for that county.
