Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2013, among all US states and DC, New York had the highest number of people who identified their race as Black or African American Alone (3.45M), followed by Texas (3.28M), and Florida (3.28M).

On the other hand, Montana had the lowest number of people that identified as Black or African American Alone (5.45K), followed by Vermont (7.28K), and Wyoming (8.51K).
