Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2012, among all US states and DC, Texas had the highest number of people who identified their race as Non-Hispanic Black or African American (3.03M), followed by Georgia (3.02M), and Florida (3.00M).

On the other hand, Montana had the lowest number of people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American (4.94K), followed by Vermont (6.47K), and Wyoming (6.77K).
