US Number of Fetal Deaths By Father's Age Group in 2022 (CDC)
According to the CDC data, in 2022, there were 40,113 recorded fetal deaths in the US. Fetal deaths was highest for fathers in the 30-34 years age group with 4,940 fetal deaths (12.32% of total), followed by fathers in the 35-39 years age group with 3,743 fetal deaths (9.33% of total), and fathers in the 25-29 years age group with 3,710 fetal deaths (9.25% of total).
Under 20 Weeks Gestation Period: 18,354 fetal deaths occurred between the first week and 19th week of gestation. Fetal deaths was highest for fathers in the 30-34 years age group with 834 fetal deaths (4.54%), followed by fathers in the 35-39 years age group with 728 fetal deaths (3.97%), and fathers in the 25-29 years age group with 499 fetal deaths (2.72%).
20 Weeks and Over Gestation Period: 20,288 fetal deaths occurred within the gestation period of 20 weeks and Over. Fetal deaths was highest for fathers in the 30-34 years age group with 4,065 fetal deaths (20.04%), followed by fathers in the 25-29 years age group with 3,187 fetal deaths (15.71%), and fathers in the 35-39 years age group with 2,989 fetal deaths (14.73%).

The CDC defines “Fetal death” as: "death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction from its father of a product of human conception, irrespective of the duration of pregnancy and which is not an induced termination of pregnancy. The death is indicated by the fact that after such expulsion or extraction, the fetus does not breathe or show any other evidence of life such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles."
