According to the CDC data, in 2022, there were 420,430 recorded Black or African American Alone deaths in the US, which was 12.78% of US total. The leading cause of Black or African American Alone deaths was Heart Diseases, with a count of 124,655 deaths (29.65% of total). The second leading cause was Cancer, with a count of 69,979 deaths (16.65% of total). And, the third leading cause was Accidents, with a count of 36,732 deaths (8.74% of total).
