Trend of US Population Under 18 Years By Generation (Foreign-Born)

According to data from the US Census Bureau, in 2024, the US first generation (foreign-born) population Under 18 Years was 3,333,000 (6.5% of US first-generation population). The second generation Under 18 Years population was 16,970,000 (40.6% of US second-generation population). And, the third-and-higher generation population Under 18 Years was 52,460,000 (21.9% of US third-and-higher-generation population).

NB: Universe is the civilian noninstitutionalized population of the United States, plus members of the Armed Forces living off post, or with their families on post, with at least one civilian adult. "First-generation" refers to those who are foreign born; "second generation" refers to those with at least one foreign-born parent; "third-and-higher generation" includes those with two US native parents.
