WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kid's Patrol of New York, N.Y., is recalling about 12,000 Athletic Team zippered vests sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores. The zipper "pulls" can slide off the top of the vest and become a choking hazard to young children. CPSC and Kid's Patrol are not aware of any injuries involving these vests. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury. The Athletic Team vests are blue with red and white trim, and were sold as part of a three-piece set that included a sweatshirt and sweatpants. There is a logo on the chest of the vest that shows a football and the words, "ATHLETIC TEAM." The vests are a cotton/polyester blend, made in Thailand, and produced in 12-month, 18-month and 24-month sizes.
