Recall Description:

Snapper, Inc., of McDonough, Ga. is voluntarily recalling about 3,000 riding lawn mowers. Snapper lawn mowers with model numbers 280922B, 281022BE, LT145H33HBV, and YZ145333BVE are part of this recall. The model number can be found on a white label attached to the top of the lawn mower. Date code 5/02 or 6/02 can be found on the discharge chute. Authorized Snapper dealers sold these mowers nationwide from May 2002 through June 2002 for between $1,099 to $2,699. These lawn mowers were made in the USA.The side discharge chute is defective. The material used to manufacture the side discharge chute is not strong enough to prevent projectiles from flying out from under the mower deck exposing consumers and by-standers to possible injuries from flying debris.No injuries have been reported.Consumers should stop using their lawn mowers until the discharge chute has been replaced.
