CPSC Recall in 2006: Valsi Corporation Announce Recall of Generators with Plastic Fuel Tanks For Fire Hazard

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Valsi Power Equipment Inc., of San Diego, Calif. and Corporativo Valsi S.A de C.V, Guadalajara, Mexico are voluntarily recalling about 900 Valsi Single Phase Portable Generators. The fuel tanks can crack and leak fuel, posing a risk of fires and burn injuries. There have been no reported injuries.Description: The Valsi "G" model G38MG0750RV, G42MG0750RV, G55MG0900RV, and G65MG1100RV are portable generators with black plastic fuel tank, full lifting frame, and side control panel. The recalled generators are black with blue label and have "Valsi Generator" printed on the label.Sold at: Wal-Mart stores in Florida Gulf coast region; Highway Equipment and Supply, Orlando, FL; and Florida Department of Transportation, Orlando, FL sold these generators from September 2004 through August 2005 for between $400 and $900.Manufactured In: MexicoRemedy: Valsi is directly notifying those consumers who purchased affected generators.
