WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), RedEnvelope is voluntarily recalling about 1,200 Life is good® Children's Sweatshirts. The garments have a drawstring through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts. Name of product: Life is good® Children's SweatshirtsUnits: About 1,200Importer: Independent Trading Co. of San Clemente, California.Hazard: The garments have a drawstring through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts.Incidents/Injuries: None reported.Description: The recalled sweatshirts have "LIFE IS GOOD" written on the front in sewn-on letters. They were sold in children sizes small (6-8), medium (10) and large (12) with drawstrings through the hood.
