WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Sears is voluntarily recalling about 5,200 Personal Identity-brand V-neck sweaters with hood (imported by A & R Knitwear, of New York, N.Y.). The recalled sweaters have a drawstring through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts.Name of Product: Personal Identity-brand V-neck sweaters with hoodUnits: About 5,200Importer: A & R Knitwear, of New York, N.Y.Hazard: The recalled sweaters have a drawstring through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children.
