Data Source: CPSC.
Recall Number: 10-201
Date: April 20, 2010
Product Name: Girls' hooded jackets
Recall Description:

This recall involves two styles of girls’ jackets. The Shampoo brand jackets are denim with a pink hood and sleeves, and were sold in sizes 5/6, 7/8, 10/12 and 14/16. The Marci & Me brand sweater jackets are black or tan and were sold in sizes 7/8, 10/12 and 14/16. The tag at the neck reads “Shampoo” or “Marci & Me.”

Hazard Description:

The hooded jackets have a drawstring through the hood that can pose a strangulation hazard to children. The sweater jackets have a drawstring through the waist that can pose an entanglement hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines (which were incorporated into an industry voluntary standard in 1997) to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts.
