Recall Description:

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Hazard Description:

The product cannot withstand the high temperatures stated on the packaging and can overheat posing a fire hazard.

Incidents:

The firm has received nine reports of the product causing smoke or catching fire. Of those nine reports, three consumers reported property damage and five reported injuries, such as headache, sore throat, nausea and eye irritation from smoke.

Christmas Tree Shops primarily in the New England, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions in October 2010 for about $3.
