CPSC Recall in 2013: LEM Products Distribution Recalls 5-Tray Food Dehydrators Due to Fire Hazard

Recall Description:

The fan in the 5-tray food dehydrator can fail and cause the product to overheat and catch fire.

Hazard Description:

The fan can fail causing the unit to overheat and pose a fire hazard.

Units: About 14,600 in the U.S, and 100 in Canada. This product was previously recalled in February 2011.
Incidents:

LEM Products Distribution has received two reports of fan failure both  resulting in fire in the units.  In one incident the consumer was close by and prevented a fire by carrying the unit outside. There were no injuries reported.

Sold At:

Bass Pro Shops, Gander Mountain, Sportsman's Warehouse and other mass merchandisers and retailers nationwide and online at Amazon.com and www.lemproducts.com from August 2010 through February 2013 for about $160.
