Based on data from the US Department of Education, for the 2021-2022 school year, the following US states were among the top 5 who had the highest percentage of their students of All Grades being proficient in Mathematics, based on state-wide assessment: Maine (81.5%), Iowa (63.8%), Florida (52.2%), Ohio (52.2%), and North Carolina (50.8%).

It was 19.3% for District of Columbia, and 5.9% for the Bureau of Indian Education.
