Based on data from the US Department of Education, for the 2021-2022 school year, the following US states were among the top 5 who had the highest percentage of their Grade 7 students being proficient in Mathematics, based on state-wide assessment: Maine (81.9%), Iowa (63.8%), Florida (51.5%), North Carolina (48.7%), and Wyoming (47.3%).
It was 21.8% for District of Columbia, and 6% for the Bureau of Indian Education.
