US Mathematics Proficiency for Grade 8 Students By State for the 2021-2022 School Year

Based on data from the US Department of Education, for the 2021-2022 school year, the following US states were among the top 5 who had the highest percentage of their Grade 8 students being proficient in Mathematics, based on state-wide assessment: Maine (83.9%), Iowa (65.3%), Florida (57.6%), Ohio (53.2%), and Texas (48.7%).

It was 16.2% for District of Columbia, and 7% for the Bureau of Indian Education.
