Based on data from the US Department of Education, for the 2021-2022 school year, the following US states were among the top 5 who had the highest percentage of their Grade 6 students being proficient in Reading or Language Arts: Maine (84.6%), Iowa (67.4%), Wyoming (58.1%), New York (57.1%), and Ohio (55.8%).
It was 28.4% for District of Columbia, and 8% for the Bureau of Indian Education.
