According to the World Bank's population estimates, there were 312,960,439 people living on the African continent in 1964. The chart and table below shows the population estimate for each African country based on data from the World Bank.

Nigeria was the most populated country (48,856,332), followed by Egypt (30,026,648), and then Ethiopia (24,073,696). Seychelles was the least populated country with a population of 46,322.
