Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Poverty Rate for Alabama was 15.79%. Among all Alabama counties, Greene County had the highest poverty rate (39.8%), followed by Perry County (35.69%), and Sumter County (31.55%). On the other hand, the following 3 counties had the lowest poverty rate: Shelby County (6.98%), Baldwin County (9.21%), and Elmore County (10.28%).
