Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, 55,072 out of 280,095 TX Congressional District 18 households received Food Stamps or SNAP in the last 12 months (i.e. 19.66% of TX Congressional District 18 households).

By Race: As a percentage of the total number of households that received SNAP or Food Stamps, the Black Alone racial group constituted 56.15%; the White Alone racial group constituted 24.24%, and the Two or More Races racial group constituted 10.29%.

By Ethnicity: As a percentage of the total number of households that received Food Stamps or SNAP, the Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group constituted 6.73%, and the Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group constituted 32.71%.

Percentage of Each Racial Group's Households that Received SNAP: 29.34% of Black Alone households received Food Stamps or SNAP; 11.89% of White Alone households received SNAP; and 20.54% of Two or More Races households received SNAP.
