Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, 32,359 out of 266,328 TX Congressional District 36 households received Food Stamps or SNAP in the last 12 months (i.e. 12.15% of TX Congressional District 36 households).

By Race: As a percentage of the total number of households that received SNAP or Food Stamps, the White Alone racial group constituted 65.46%; the Black Alone racial group constituted 18.26%, and the Two or More Races racial group constituted 10.38%.

By Ethnicity: As a percentage of the total number of households that received Food Stamps or SNAP, the Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group constituted 51.66%, and the Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group constituted 26.80%.
