According to data from the US BLS, in January 2026, the United States Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Midwest - Size Class B/C was 193.965 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 2.9%% (not seasonally adjusted). The Tuition, other school fees, and childcare item had the highest 12-month percent change or inflation rate (4.6%), followed by Rent of primary residence (4.5%), and Owners' equivalent rent of residences (4.5%).
