According to data from the US BLS, in January 2026, the United States Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Northeast was 339.104 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 2.8%% (not seasonally adjusted). The Household energy item had the highest 12-month percent change or inflation rate (6.7%), followed by Food away from home (4.2%), and Rent of primary residence (4.1%).
