According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in January, 2022, West Virginia added the highest number of jobs to the private mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction industry (896), followed by Texas (689), and Oklahoma (346).

On the other hand, Louisiana added the least number of jobs (-858), followed by Pennsylvania (-856), and New York (-472).
