According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in May, 2023, Minnesota added the highest number of jobs to the private mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction industry (356), followed by North Dakota (356), and Montana (224).

On the other hand, Oklahoma added the least number of jobs (-410), followed by Louisiana (-109), and Alabama (-83).
