According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Florida was 3.6% (sa) in September, 2004. Among all Florida counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Hendry (9.8%), Indian River (8.4%), and DeSoto (7.6%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Okaloosa (2.5%), Lafayette (2.5%), and Monroe (2.6%).
