According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Illinois was 9.5% (sa) in December, 2011. Among all Illinois counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Montgomery (12.6%), Alexander (12.4%), and Union (12.3%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Woodford (6%), Brown (6%), and McLean (6.3%).
