According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Illinois was 8.6% (sa) in December, 2013. Among all Illinois counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Alexander (12.3%), Pulaski (11.6%), and Johnson (11.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Brown (4.8%), Washington (5.7%), and Monroe (6.1%).
