According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 6.9% (sa) in February, 2006. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (21.3%), Presque Isle (18.7%), and Cheboygan (16.9%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (4.8%), Kalamazoo (5.4%), and Livingston (5.7%).
