According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 14% (sa) in July, 2009. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Baraga (23.3%), Oscoda (20.6%), and Wexford (19.4%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (5.7%), Leelanau (8.1%), and Cheboygan (8.7%).
