According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New York was 4.8% (sa) in January, 2006. Among all New York counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Lewis (7.4%), Bronx (7.3%), and Oswego (7.3%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Tompkins (3.7%), Putnam (3.8%), and Saratoga (3.9%).
