According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of New York was 8.6% (sa) in December, 2011. Among all New York counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Hamilton (12.5%), Bronx (12.1%), and Oswego (11.2%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Tompkins (5.9%), Saratoga (6.8%), and Nassau (6.8%).
