According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of South Dakota was 3.1% (sa) in July, 2017. Among all South Dakota counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Dewey (15.3%), Oglala Lakota (12.6%), and Buffalo (7.2%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Jerauld (2%), Lincoln (2.1%), and Jones (2.1%).
