According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Texas was 8.3% (sa) in November, 2009. Among all Texas counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Starr (17.8%), Presidio (16.5%), and Sabine (16.1%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Culberson (3.8%), Hemphill (3.9%), and Armstrong (4.1%).
