According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Vermont was 4.6% (sa) in July, 2008. Among all Vermont counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Orleans (5.6%), Rutland (5.4%), and Essex (4.9%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Windsor (3.7%), Orange (3.9%), and Chittenden (4%).
