According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Washington was 7.4% (sa) in July, 2003. Among all Washington counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Ferry (11.9%), Wahkiakum (10.4%), and Klickitat (10.3%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): San Juan (4.3%), Garfield (5.5%), and Whitman (5.6%).
